11th November 2016, Armistice Day, saw the premiere of Suite For The Fallen Soldier performed by 70 vocalists, 4 readers and 1 cellist.
An early start on this day starting at BBC Shropshire studios for a chat with Eric Smith and Clare Ashford on their breakfast show and then BBC Midlands Today came and filmed the premiere with an interview 15 minutes prior to concert start.
And now for something slightly different to what I have been composing of late:- Starting today (1st Nov) is the TV and online advertising campaign for Simplify Digital that I scored the music for.
As the premier of Suite For The Fallen Soldier gets ever closer – Armistice Day 2016 – I have released a few studio rehearsal recordings on the choral suite projects website.
Some of the recordings that were made to assist the choir in learning the scores have been uploaded now that the compositions have been completed and arranged (mostly for SATB, solo cello, piano/church organ with additional parts for children’s choir, alto & soprano soloists).
Some of the music from the commemorative World War 1 choral narrative suite can be found here.
Breakdown Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Breakdown has been released. The 17 track hybrid film score incorporates a mix of high energy drama with emotive and classical music and is available on iTunes
as well as featuring the virtuoso talents of Zoe Mountford on Vocals and Josh Mountford on Cello.
Several extracts can be found on the homepage on this site.
Premier of Breakdown with Phil Mountford between producer Luke Fairbrass and writer/director Jonnie Malachi
After spending hours communicating remotely with the director and producers of Breakdown while composing the soundtrack to the thriller, it was great to actually catch up with them at the film premier in London Covent Garden Odeon last night.
The film tells the story of a professional contract killer who is haunted by visions of his violent past.
New website now online with plenty of new music samples from my more recent films & TV projects.
